Schoellershammer orders a containerboard machine rebuild from Metso Paper

4 November 2004 - Papierfabrik Schoellershammer in Düren, Germany, has ordered a rebuild of their board machine PM5 from Metso Paper. PM5 is designed for the manufacture of high quality recycled packaging grades. The start-up is scheduled for the summer of 2005.

The rebuild of the 5.5-meter wide machine will be supplied by Metso units in Finland and Italy and will consist of proven boardmaking technology as well as Metso Paper's new technological concepts for packaging grades. The machine will produce fluting and test liner in the basis weight range of 90 – 170 g/m².

Metso's delivery scope includes a new SymPress Combi, a size press for pond sizing, a ValReel, as well as main modifications in the dryer section, including a new tail threading system with OptiForce family products (PressForce, FoilForce and SingleForce web stabilization).

Papierfabrik Schoellershammer is a privately owned company and a major producer of high quality packaging products, translucent and art paper in Germany.
